An official inaugural team brand for the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL).
Gridiron Labs worked with FXFL Commissioner, Brian Woods, to create a fierce team brand for the Florida market. Team owners didn’t want to be too obvious or generic by using “sharks” in the name, so they focused on a specific species of shark, the “Blacktip”. This motivated some serious research on the anatomic characteristics and differences. Blacktips are far less intimidating than a Great White, but much more speedy and nimble. We landed on a more streamlined body, balanced color break-up, and ample movement that results in a "wrap-around" effect on the helmet.
